Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established East Belfast client to recruit an experienced paraplanner to join a growing, forward-thinking advice team.
The Role
This is not a traditional, back-office paraplanning position.
You will play a central role in the advice process - shaping recommendations, improving report quality, and working closely with advisers to deliver clear, compliant, and client-focused outcomes.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership and influence. While AI tools are used to support drafting and efficiency, your expertise, judgement, and attention to detail will define the final output.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of the structure, clarity, and quality of suitability reports
Review and challenge adviser recommendations to ensure they are suitable, consistent, and clearly articulated
Use AI tools to support drafting, summarisation, and quality checks - refining outputs to a high professional standard
Conduct detailed product research across pensions and investment solutions
Act as a key point of contact between advisers and administration teams
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve the advice process
This role sits at the heart of advice delivery, not at the end of it.
About You
This role is best suited to an experienced paraplanner who:
Is confident taking ownership and working with autonomy
Brings strong technical knowledge and sound professional judgement
Enjoys improving processes and raising standards
Wants to play an active role in shaping advice outcomes rather than simply documenting them
Experience & Qualifications
We are flexible on background but looking for demonstrable capability. You will likely have:
Experience working within a UK IFA / financial planning environment
Strong understanding of FCA suitability requirements
Proven ability to review, challenge, and enhance suitability reports
Experience across pensions and investments
Level 4 Diploma qualified (or close to completion)
Package & Benefits
Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
Ongoing exam support and CPD
Office-based role in East Belfast
Opportunity to shape and develop the paraplanning function as the business evolves
What This Role Is Not
Not a junior or entry-level position
Not a pure administration or report-writing role
Not a narrowly defined or process-driven remit
Summary
This is an opportunity for an experienced paraplanner who wants to be trusted, influential, and fully involved in the advice process - someone motivated by improving quality, clarity, and client outcomes.
