Systems EngineerWork on highly complex communications and network-based technology used within mission-critical environments worldwide.This is an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join a business developing advanced RF and integrated systems where reliability, performance, and technical quality are paramount.As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of advanced communications and network-based systems within a highly technical engineering environment. Working across the full product lifecycle, you will help design, develop, and verify integrated system solutions that support critical aviation infrastructure globally.This role would suit an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in RF systems, radio communications, networking technologies, and systems integration. You will be joining a collaborative multidisciplinary team where technical thinking, problem solving, and engineering quality are genuinely valued.Job ResponsibilitiesContribute to the full product development lifecycle from requirements capture through to verification and deliveryDefine and document system level requirements and functional specificationsBreak down high-level customer and technical requirements into detailed functional use casesSupport system architecture development for RF and communications-based productsConduct technical design reviews and provide engineering input throughout development phasesWork on integrated system solutions involving radio communications, IP networking, VoIP, and associated technologiesEnsure systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and technical requirementsProduce detailed technical documentation including system diagrams, configurations, and operational proceduresSupport verification, validation, and integration activities across hardware and software environmentsIdentify technical risks and support resolution activities throughout projectsContribute to system commonality and compatibility across product rangesSupport future product and technology planning activitiesProvide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineersWork closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across systems, software, hardware, and product functionsSkills and ExperienceEssentialPrevious experience working as a Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, or within a similar systems-focused engineering roleDegree qualified in a relevant engineering or technical disciplineStrong background in radio communications, RF systems, or related communications technologiesGood understanding of IP networking technologiesExperience working with VoIP systems and network-based communicationsStrong understanding of the full product development lifecycleAbility to translate requirements into functional system behaviours and use casesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience producing technical system documentationUnderstanding of systems integration and verification activitiesEligibility to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearanceBeneficialExperience with cyber security measures or cyber resilience would be highly beneficialExposure to hardware design and/or software engineering would be advantageousKnowledge of wider network technologies would be beneficialPay and BenefitsSalary up to £55,00037.5-hour working week with flexitime and core hours between 09:3015:0025 days holiday plus bank holidaysEnhanced pension scheme with up to 8% company contributionPrivate healthcareLife assuranceBuy and sell holiday schemeLiberty Days allowing annual leave requests on the dayLong service and retirement awardsSubsidised staff canteenCycle to work schemeFlu vaccinationsContinuous training and learning opportunitiesEmployee Assistance Programme and wellbeing supportFree on-site parkingIf you are a Systems Engineer looking for a role where you can work on genuinely complex technology with real-world global impact, this opportunity offers the chance to be part of a highly respected engineering environment with long-term career development and technically challenging projects.
