Bolney Wine Estate is one of England's most established vineyards, producing award-winning wines and welcoming thousands of visitors each year. With our newly renovated hospitality spaces, we're looking for an experienced Duty Manager to help lead our growing Front-of-House team. As a Duty Manager, you'll be the senior leader on shift, ensuring smooth operations across our restaurant, café, shop, and tours & tastings. You'll inspire the team, uphold service standards, and ensure every guest leaves with a memorable experience.
The Role
As Duty Manager, you will:
* Lead the Front-of-House team during service, creating a warm, professional and welcoming atmosphere
* Act as the main point of contact for staff and guests throughout your shift
* Resolve guest queries and complaints quickly and confidently
* Support training and development, from new starter inductions to ongoing coaching
* Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and rota management
* Drive sales through excellent product knowledge and confident upselling
* Maintain compliance with health & safety, licensing regulations, and Challenge 25
Skills & Experience
* Experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality
* Strong leadership skills with a genuine passion for customer service
* Ability to stay calm and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of food hygiene, licensing, and health & safety regulations
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy seasonal periods
* A genuine enthusiasm and passion for food, wine, and hospitality
