Location: Cardiff
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part Time 22.5 hours
Validity: The Opportunity
To provide social, emotional, and practical support to people experiencing challenges with their mental health and emotional well‑being. The Sanctuary’s aim is to provide a safe, welcoming place where people can go outside of normal working hours, instead of A&E or other urgent services. People can access support at the point of crisis within a quiet space away whilst receiving face‑to‑face support following a robust recovery model.
The service will operate 365 days a year predominantly between the hours of 5pm‑1am. Shifts will be on a rota basis and will involve caseworkers carrying out telephone and face‑to‑face assessments upon receiving referrals from the health board/statutory services. There is the expectation for staff to be flexible and potentially work between the hours of 12pm‑8pm. There will also be optional overtime opportunities available. Staff will have the support of a 24‑hour Management On‑Call system.
The support will be expected to be in line with Platform’s values.
Further information about the project can be found within application pack – See ‘The Sanctuary Project Overview’ and JD at the bottom of the page.
We work with people experiencing challenges with their mental health, and with communities who want to create a greater sense of wellbeing in the places that they live. Through our projects, we work with thousands of people each year.
We believe that long‑lasting wellbeing comes about by understanding how lives can be shaped by traumatic experiences, identifying people’s strengths and focussing on healing. We know we can’t ‘fix’ people, but we can walk alongside people and help where we can on their journey.
We try hard to make Platform a great place to work, we live our values and mission in everything that we do.
