At Next, we have a brilliant opportunity for a Nursery Apprentice to join our onsite Nursery at our Head Office in Enderby!
During your Apprenticeship, you will gain the skills and knowledge to become a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner. You will be part of creating a high-quality and caring environment for children, including creating a warm, friendly, and stimulating atmosphere in which children can develop emotionally, socially, and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
You will:
* Complete college assignments on time.
* Attend team meetings and contribute ideas.
* Work under supervision to provide all aspects of care for children, including washing, changing, and feeding.
* Assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
* Provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
* Be aware of the nursery's confidentiality policy.
* Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
* Attend all out-of-working-hours activities, e.g., training, monthly staff meetings, parents' evenings, sports day, Christmas party, etc.
* Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery.
* Undertake duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as determined by the supervisor.
* View the nursery as a 'whole' where your help can be most utilized, and be constantly aware of children's needs.
* Ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of children from diverse cultures, religious backgrounds, and developmental stages.
* Uphold standards at all times.
* Be aware of emergency and fire evacuation procedures.
* Be aware of sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
About you:
* Qualification in Maths and English.
* Knowledge, understanding, and practical experience of daycare for young children and the EYFS curriculum.
* Awareness of purposeful planning for children in daycare settings.
* Ability to confidently communicate with parents/carers.
* Able to work independently and manage your own time efficiently.
* Understanding of the role of the key person.
* Pro-active and self-motivated.
* Committed to helping children and families reach their full potential.
* Ability to use initiative.
* Calm under pressure.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Passionate and enthusiastic about early years development.
* Able to keep accurate records.
* Numerate and able to complete Key Skills in Application of Number at Level 1.
* Able to implement high health and safety standards.
