As the Commercial Finance Lead – Three Trading, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Commercial Finance Manager in delivering consumer IRO (Inflow, Retention, Outflow & Migrations) performance (Three), providing well balanced, informed recommendations through effective challenge of Commercial trading inputs and assumptions.
You will work closely with the Senior Commercial Managers and be accountable for the day-to-day business partnering underpinning Three Consumer Trading across volume and value.
You will be responsible for the Three forecasting, outlooking and maintenance of the risks & opportunities (R&O) register, as well as overview of commercial business casing across IRO, supporting the Finance and Commercial senior leadership team in making effective decisions.
You will provide clear leadership for the Finance Analyst and effectively support them in their development.
This role requires a strong commercial mindset, a good understanding across IRO areas, a strong understanding of the consumer market as well as influencing skills with the ability to optimise Three value.
* Direct Commercial Support: Act as the key finance partner to the Vodafone trading teams (Mobile & MBB); driving discussions on commercial performance to optimise IRO results and monitor KPIs such as; Inflow volumes and rates, Handset/SIM mixes, Pre to Post values (value of customer before and after an upgrade), Churn as a % of base, outflow rates etc.
* Trading Cadence: Maintain active attendance in all weekly trading cadence cycles, including Monday Investment Forums and the Tuesday/Friday Pre-Trading and Trading meetings.
* Business Casing: Review of specific business cases for Three across IRO; providing financial intelligence and challenge for tactical proposals, promotional periods, and new device launches. Provide Commercial Teams with necessary support and financial templates to produce business cases in a standardised/consistent format across the business.
* Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs): Review PIRs which has been assessed by the commercial owners, from historic price changes/promotions to ensure factual “story telling” and ensure learnings are captured and understood to aid future decision making.
* Performance Optimisation: Continuously monitor and provide actionable insights to optimise Three IRO performance.
* Trading Analysis: Deliver routine Month-End, Week-on-Week (WoW), Year on Year (YoY) variance analysis to identify performance drivers, provide supporting commentary as well as any necessary ad-hoc deep dive reviews.
* Forecasting Integrity: Support, scrutinise, and challenge trading team inputs into volume and rate forecasts to ensure accuracy and accountability.
* Weekly Outlooks: Manage the weekly outlook process, ensuring full alignment with commercial teams before presentation in the weekly trading meetings
* Risks & Opportunities (R&O) Management: Proactively identify emerging R&O for Three, align these with commercial leads, and ensure they are captured in the centralised R&O register. Work with commercial teams to mitigate risks where possible.
* Ad-hoc - Perform other related task and support projects as needed to support the evolving needs of the commercial finance team and wider VodafoneThree business.
Qualifications
* ACCA, CIMA or ACA Qualified Accountant
* Experience in a Business Partnering environment, specifically supporting non-finance commercial and trading teams (Mobile & MBB across both new customer acquisition & existing customer bases).
* Advanced analytical skills & inquisitive nature
* Experience in Financial Modelling and Business Casing, with the ability to provide financial "challenge" to commercial inputs and assumptions.
* Strong communication and influencing skills
