Early years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship – Level 5 – Brambles Outdoor Nursery Group, Wilton
Shoots Training is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking individual to complete their Level 5 Early Years Lead Childcare Apprenticeship at Brambles Outdoor Nursery Group in Wilton as a Senior Practitioner.
Brambles Wilton, opened in January 2021, is located in the picturesque town of Wilton, just 3 miles from Salisbury. The setting offers a beautiful countryside environment with a garden, fields, a stream, and resident animals including chickens, guinea pigs, and Robby the Horse, providing children with opportunities to learn about and care for animals.
At Brambles, practitioners and children work closely together, valuing children's thinking, interests, and improvisations, and encouraging their learning through modeling and exploration.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Educating and caring for children, providing support and stimulating play experiences aligned with the Brambles ethos.
2. Supporting mealtimes, nappy changes, and routine activities within the setting.
3. Assisting with setting up and tidying the environment.
4. Supporting the delivery of learning and development standards within the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
5. Assisting in curriculum planning using the EYFS guidance.
6. Understanding and implementing Brambles policies and procedures.
7. Using loose parts, provocations, and outdoor learning to promote the Brambles ethos.
8. Promoting the ethos and supporting junior staff in implementation.
9. Upholding safeguarding and welfare standards for children and young people.
10. Recognizing and meeting individual needs as a Key Person, communicating with parents/carers.
11. Participating in parent evenings and open days, communicating about children's progress.
12. Using the Famly App to record and communicate children's activities and progress.
13. Managing a space and dealing with related responsibilities if required.
14. Reporting concerns regarding health, safety, or well-being to the Manager.
15. Attending monthly staff meetings.
16. Monitoring resources and equipment, advising on replenishment.
17. Adopting a flexible approach to tasks and duties as needed.
18. Taking on additional duties to support the setting’s operations.
19. Maintaining positive relationships with colleagues.
20. Supporting the setting to achieve and maintain a good Ofsted rating.
21. Keeping skills and knowledge current through professional development.
22. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
23. Ensuring children's safety and understanding child protection procedures.
24. Promoting equality of opportunity and respecting confidentiality.
Hours:
* Open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
* 37.5 hours per week with shift patterns to be discussed.
Requirements:
* Level 3 Childcare Qualification is essential.
* Ability to obtain a clear DBS check.
* GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent.
* Experience in a leadership role is preferred.
