Health Physics Surveyor (Nuclear) Long term contract/Permanent Location

- ASAP As a HP Surveyor you will be performing activities and carrying out assessments on tasks, equipment or environments which have a radiological impact.
While doing it to the highest standards.
Responsibilities include: radiological surveys and analyses routine Health Physics tasks including
- Response checks of instrumentation Monitoring of personnel and areas Designated area access / egress control Air sampling PPE / RPE inspection Possible use of specialised RPE, i.e.
PBASO (pressurised breathing air
- suit operative) Working party compliance with radiological controls Clearance monitoring decontamination of areas, items and personnel Prepare and maintain all necessary records, and associated documentation Assist project engineers as necessary with work/test instructions and studies Report progress and results to the RPS / Supervisor / Site Manager Essential Requirements: NVQ Radiation Protection or City & Guilds
- Radiation Safety Practices Proven experience of health physics surveillance Understands radiological issues, radioactive shielding and barrier theories and protocols for safe working Working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations inc: COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR Compliance with Radiological Protection / IRR 99 Competent user of MS Office Carry out simple arithmetic calculations Utilisation of technical or scientific data DV clearance or clearable If you are interested in finding out more, you can call Adam on or email on Astute People are acting as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
