Youth Worker (Part time) Job Description at Cuddington & Sandiway Youth Club
As this is a part time role, realistically the candidate would need to live within 10 miles of the village but preferably closer.
Responsible To: Youth Club Chair
Wages: Starting from £13 dependant on qualifications and experience
Hours: Up to 3 Hours per week on a Friday night on a rota basis. Additional hours when needed.
Location: Cuddington & Sandiway
Contract Type: Until December 2026 although hope to extend
Cuddington & Sandiway Youth Club are seeking a Youth Worker to work with a network of other youth workers and volunteers to provide targeted centre-based youth activities to young people aged between 10 and 17.
We are looking for someone to be a Youth Worker up to 3 Hours per week. We presently open every Friday between 7.00pm and 9.00pm.
At the moment the Young People play computer games, pool, table tennis, indoor football, basketball outside and dancing and generally just sit and chat. There is a kitchen and we provide hot and cold soft drinks and snacks.
We have a good group of existing Youth Workers and rather than having to work every Friday night they agree a rota of when they are available to do a session. They are supported by a committee and a good group of volunteers. They will also sometimes spend time during the week in training, meetings or preparation.
When attending we would expect the Youth Worker to open up 30 minutes before to set-up and 30 minutes after to clear away. A total of 3 Hours.
We are looking to encourage some of the young people who presently do not attend the Youth Club by developing activities that bring them away from other areas of the village that face negative interactions with the community.
We are particularly interested in someone who is able to help with setting up and organising computer games and or playing musical instruments.
