Join Our Team as a Graduate Engineer – Structures (Cheshire East)
Ringway Jacobs is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Graduate Engineer to join our Structures Team in Cheshire East. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and, ideally, some experience in a design office environment.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the delivery of our annual programme of highway structure maintenance and repair works. Working closely with the Structures Manager, engineers, and wider team, you’ll contribute to the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — are essential, as you’ll be involved in preparing scheme designs, engineering reports, contracts, and progress updates.
This position offers the chance to learn from experienced engineers, develop your technical expertise, and make a meaningful contribution to high-profile infrastructure projects that keep our communities moving.
The Role
• The role will primarily support the delivery of Cheshire East’s annual capital works portfolio,
including planning, design, and implementation of structures improvement schemes.
• Prepare, design, and plan highway structures works and services.
• Provide assistance in the management and monitoring of works programmes or services.
• Plan and deliver work safely in accordance with CDM (2015) and Health and Safety policy.
• Preparation of technical reports and structural drawings.
About You
• Familiarity with DMRB, MCHW and Eurocodes standards.
• Basic knowledge and application of Health and Safety legislation including Construction
(Design & Management) Regulations.
• Conversant with Microsoft applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills including report writing.
• Ability to prioritise own work to support business priorities. Manages own performance and
seeks feedback to improve where identified.
