About The Role The Role We are a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy (Quantity Surveying, Dispute Resolution, Expert Witness, Forensic Planning & Delay Analysis, Legal, Building Surveying) offering services to Clients (Employers, Funders, Main Contractors and Sub-Contractors) throughout the construction industry. We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join the Corporate Advisory Services at Gateley Vinden, you will be engaging in a dynamic and multifaceted role that leverages your expertise in Quantity Surveying within the broader context of corporate advisory. You will be responsible for the following: Offering commercial and contractual guidance to Funders within the construction sector, helping them assess and manage risks associated with their clients and the contracts they undertake. Advising Funders on the viability of providing financial facilities to clients and monitoring these arrangements throughout their lifecycle to mitigate future risks. Developing and implementing exit strategies for Funders looking to withdraw from funding arrangements. Engaging with a range of stakeholders, ensuring open communication channels and fostering trust through your deep understanding of the industry. Analysing client information to extract vital data and assimilate it effectively to inform decision-making processes. Utilizing your knowledge of standard forms of contracts and subcontract agreements, such as JCT and NEC 3 and 4, in the administration and reporting of contracts. Demonstrating proficiency in commercial practices including the management of applications for payment, payment certificates, and cost value reconciliation reporting. Conducting thorough data analysis to support financial and risk assessments. The Person Degree/MRICS, and ideally MCIArb or similar qualifications and or experience Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent report writing skills, conveying key information concisely and professionally Competence in extracting and assimilating key data from client information Working knowledge of the standard forms of contract subcontract, including JCT and NEC 3 and 4 forms Solid commercial experience including applications for payment/ payment certificates, contract administration and CVR reporting Good data analysis skills A basic understanding of company accounts ( training can be given if required) Experience in a role as Commercial Manager is preferred but not essential.
