Due to ongoing growth and successful project wins, we are recruiting a Senior Project Manager to join our expanding team in Rugby. Reporting to the Naval Project Director, this role will primarily manage Naval Projects, ensuring project deliverables meet business objectives. Responsibilities include project delivery, P&L accountability, and customer satisfaction through managing project activities and resources.
You will serve as the primary interface for internal and external customers, leading cross-functional teams to execute projects within scope, budget, and in compliance with EHS and quality standards. You will use judgment to make decisions and solve complex operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering problems, often providing solutions outside set parameters or recommendations.
This role involves working with UK Defence customers, requiring the applicant to hold or be eligible for SC Level clearance. Applicants without clearance will not be considered until clearance is obtained. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second nationality is approved by the vetting authority.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing project timelines and coordinating with the Rugby Service Centre, external subcontractors, and sourcing to ensure load planning aligns with supplier capacity.
2. Accountable for project costs, revenue, and cash flow, delivering within budget and achieving forecasted revenue and cash targets, using financial reports and KPIs to mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
3. Proactively identifying cost reduction opportunities and developing action plans.
4. Managing project risks with timely mitigation strategies and stakeholder updates.
5. Implementing continuous improvement initiatives based on problem-solving and lessons learned.
6. Proactively managing contracts, identifying upsell opportunities, and ensuring follow-through.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Extensive project management experience, ideally in new product introduction (NPI).
2. Knowledge of design and manufacturing processes is advantageous but not essential.
3. Proven experience in customer engagement and commercial activities at senior levels.
4. Preferably familiar with AGILE methodologies.
