Are you a Health & Safety expert who thrives on the road and loves the fast paced world of retail?
We are looking for a Regional Health & Safety Manager to champion our “Safe & Legal” culture across our North West & Cumbria estate. Covering everything from Manchester up to Carlisle and across to Southport, you will be the go to subject matter expert for our Supermarkets.
This isn’t just about ticking boxes; it’s about being a visible leader. You will partner with Regional Management to protect our colleagues, our customers, and the integrity of our brand.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a comprehensive Safe & Legal management service for our Retail stores (and occasionally Logistics).
* Partner with Regional and Store Managers to identify data trends and implement practical, commercial solutions.
* Lead the response to serious safety or legality concerns, coordinating improvements and managing enforcement activity (including Fire Safety and FRAs).
* Act as the primary point of contact for Enforcement Officers and external stakeholders like Pest Control.
* Move beyond “policing” to “partnering” by upskilling store teams through hands on coaching and technical advice.
About You
You are a proactive, “can do” professional who can spot a risk from a mile away and knows how to fix it without slowing the business down.
Technical Essentials
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and active CPD membership.
* Multi-site experience in a large-scale operation (Retail, Catering, Logistics or Manufacturing).
* Deep expertise in H&S, an understanding of Food Safety (HACCP) and Trading Standards would also be an advantage.
* Proven experience in conducting rigorous H&S audits.
Personal Attributes
* You can translate complex legislation into simple, actionable advice for store colleagues.
* You’re comfortable handling high-pressure incidents and reaching satisfactory conclusions with enforcement bodies.
* Skilled in data manipulation and reporting to drive regional improvements.
* A full UK driving license is essential, and you’re comfortable with occasional overnight stays.
