We are looking for an English Teacher/Tutor (Willing to work towards a full teaching qualification) to join our team in Milton Keynes, someone who leads with patience, builds real relationships, and finds genuine reward in helping young people grow.
At SOFEA, you will not be managing a class of 30. You will work with small groups of around 10 to 12 students aged 16 to 19, giving you the space to truly get to know each learner and tailor your support to them. Our therapeutic, person-centred approach puts connection first and you will see the difference your work makes every single day.
We are looking for someone with:
* A full teaching qualification (DTTLS, PGCSE, Cert. Ed.) or a willingness to work towards one
* Knowledge of Functional Skills and GCSE English delivery
* Experience supporting diverse learners, including those with disabilities or who have not thrived in mainstream education
* Excellent communication skills with young people, parents and carers
* Strong listening and organisational skills, and the ability to adapt including to areas like Life Skills
* Energy, patience, resourcefulness and a genuine caring nature
* A sense of humour and the ability to keep things in perspective
Full-Time and Part-time considered. (9-5pm)

SOFEA, established in 2014, is a charity focused on helping individuals transform their lives based in Didcot and Milton Keynes. SOFEA utilises surplus food to support thousands of people weekly across local communities. The organisation empowers disadvantaged individuals, particularly young people, by providing opportunities to gain English and Math qualifications, acquire work experience, and access wellbeing support. SOFEA also engages with the community through corporate volunteering and fundraising events to further its impact.
