Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction or trades, as practical skills such as carpentry, roofing, or electrical experience are considered advantageous. The position is paid and suitable for those who take pride in their punctuality and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver goods to clients and sites across the region
* Load and unload items using appropriate hand tools and power tools, ensuring secure transportation
* Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
* Verify delivery orders against shipping documentation before departure and upon arrival
* Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues
* Maintain the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the vehicle
* Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations during transit and loading/unloading procedures
Experience
* Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles or lorries is preferred
* Practical knowledge of construction trades such as carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is preferred but not necessary
* Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in building or repair work
* Ability to read maps and navigate using GPS devices effectively
* Prior experience in logistics or delivery roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
