Salary & Start
MPR (£32,916) / UPR (£51,048) with an additional TLR2B payment of £5,866 per annum. Start date: January 2026 full‑time permanent.
Overview
Garforth Academy is a well‑established, talented and committed team working in a challenging environment in the North of England. With nearly 2,000 students aged 11‑18, the academy serves a predominantly urban catchment area that includes Garforth, Kippax, Aberford, Micklefield, Swillington and Colton. We are a large and oversubscribed academy that prides itself on knowing our students well and doing everything we can to ensure each one reaches their potential.
Garforth Academy is a dynamic academy that is part of Delta Academies Trust, a multi‑academy trust that is transforming educational outcomes for students in some of the most deprived areas of the North of England. In November 2024 an Ofsted inspection graded the academy Outstanding in all areas.
We operate a robust curriculum that consistently performs well both at KS4 and KS5, with Grade A*–C in A*‑level achievement at 84.3%. Our pupils also benefit from an extensive range of extra‑curricular activities, including music, sport, art, STEM, gardening, cooking, trips abroad and residential experiences.

Responsibilities
* Influence and give direction to the children in your classes, ensuring high expectations and student progress.
* Design, develop and deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and curriculum within the Construction department.
* Work with colleagues to maintain a high standard of teaching practice and continuous professional development.
* Support pupils to achieve the best possible outcomes, both academically and personally.
* Contribute to the academy’s wider community and extracurricular activities to enhance the learning experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Outstanding, committed and motivated teacher with a passion for developing and inspiring pupils.
* Proven classroom practice in the Construction subject area.
* Strong ability to plan and assess learning, analyse data and use it to inform teaching.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with staff, pupils and parents.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to support the academy’s ethos.
