Overview
Salaried GPs specialising in care for people with substance misuse and men and women in prison and detained settings. Spectrum CIC is looking for passionate, enthusiastic, values-driven people to join our existing team of experienced GPs. We are open to part-time or full-time, face-to-face work. All posts attract NHS employment benefits including NHS pension and time-served enhancements; retired doctors returning to service are welcome. Our doctors are committed to delivering better health outcomes, tackling health inequalities, and working with marginalised patients.
Please note the welcome payment is payable to new candidates joining Spectrum Community Health CIC.
We aim to be flexible in matching availability with work patterns and service needs; part-time and flexible working options are available.
Main duties of the job
Prison healthcare
GPs play a crucial clinical leadership role in our prison primary healthcare teams. Prior prison experience is desirable but not essential as full induction and training will be provided, with round-the-clock access to experienced clinical supervision for new doctors.
Our GPs value compassion, empathy, fairness, and multidisciplinary teamwork, alongside a commitment to high-quality, innovative care.
Line managed and supported by a Regional Lead GP, you will have access to continuing professional development for appraisal and revalidation through our GP forum. As a senior leader you will have access to a full induction and ongoing professional support, coaching and development opportunities, including Spectrum’s ILM-accredited leadership and management programme.
Substance Misuse
You may already have a special interest in substance misuse; if not, we will invest in you to attain the expertise and confidence, supported by national accreditation to deliver a substance misuse extended role. There are also opportunities to engage with research or medical education through our Research and Medical Education departments.
