The role
The Duty Shift Manager is responsible for managing the Security Officers and for maintaining levels of security across the Museum. You will be required to oversee the day-to-day smooth running of the Control Room, ensuring that the Health and Safety policy is adhered to, and working to exemplary customer service standards.
Key duties include leading a team of Security Officers that is fully briefed, managed, motivated, and developed to the highest standard; operating all Control Room equipment and systems, while ensuring that they are effectively controlled and monitored; ensuring that all security, health & safety incidents are dealt with promptly, and that incident reporting procedures are implemented and monitored; and overseeing routing security administration as well as appropriate shift coverage.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in and managing teams within a Security environment, knowledge of crime and terrorist threats, be able to demonstrate evidence of practising and encouraging high standard of security provision throughout previous employment, as well as proven experience of managing a diverse team.
This is a full time, permanent role in Band 6 - Management and Technical Specialists until September, with possibility of extension. Net working hours will be an average of 38.5 per week, working a shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off, of 12 hours duration from 6.15am to 6.15pm and 6.15pm to 6.15am, including Bank Holidays. In certain circumstances you are also required to work such additional hours as are necessary for the proper performance of your duties. These hours may be changed with reasonable notice.
