The Mental Health Unscheduled and Primary Care Unit are looking for a Mental Health Unscheduled Care Policy Manager to join their team. The Unit work towards improving the unscheduled mental health care response for individuals in Scotland who require urgent or emergency care because they are experiencing mental ill-health, emotional distress, or crisis. You will provide support to continue to improve our response by increasing referral pathways; improving data, information sharing, collaboration and case management between partners including, Health Boards, Police Scotland and Public Health Scotland. Following the publication of the Collaborative Commitments Plan, we will work with our partners, through the Mental Health Unscheduled Care Network, to deliver these new actions. This includes providing a lead engagement role for mental health interests with Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service, NHS 24 and Police Scotland. This a brilliant time to join the team as we embark on phase 2 of this transformation programme. Please note this post is a part time position offering 14 hours per week. Responsibilities Support the Team Leader and MHUC Safe Spaces Policy Manager to the deliver Strategic Action 4.5 in the Mental Health and Wellbeing Delivery plan to build on work already underway to improve unplanned and urgent mental health care, including for those in mental distress, utilising a multi-agency response. Working with analysts and procurement specialists, commission a Cost Benefit Analysis of safe spaces. Working with key stakeholders, supporting the delivery of the Framework for Collaboration and improved support for people who frequently present in crisis. Manage and Monitor the £13m budget associated with Mental Health Unscheduled Care.
