Job Description
Criterion Hospitality is looking for a hands-on Financial Controller, to implement robust financial processes, cost control and team management for its fast growing limited-service hotel chain, including its own managed brand Zedwell, independent hotels and franchises such as Marriott Moxy and IHG Indigo.

* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Good knowledge of hotel management and accounting systems such Mews, Opera and NetSuite required
* Proven track record of implementing robust finance, stock control and cost control processes
* Demonstrate a strategic mindset and understand GOP, RevPAR and flow through thoroughly and ready to challenge operator assumptions.
* Understand lease vs management agreement economics
Core responsibilities
* Reconcile all revenue streams and costs.
* Identify and fix any leakages or potential for fraud.
* Analyse profitability and implement cost controls to maintain 60% GOP target
* Implement efficient processes and SOPs for the finance team
* Maintain accurate financial records, such as monthly P&Ls, management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
* Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and cash flow
* Ensure tax compliance (VAT, occupancy taxes, corporation tax)
* Support audits, lender reporting, valuations and refinancing
What You Bring
* Fully Qualified Accountant
* 10 plus years limited-service hotel accounting experience
* Good knowledge of USALI principles
* Familiar with independent, branded and lender-funded hotels
* Opera / Mews / NetSuite experience
