Personal Assistant required to support a young man
£12.60 per hour. Working hours: 7 hours a week during term time and 7 hours during school holidays, mainly weekday evenings with flexibility on weekends. The role supports a 16‑year‑old with autism, social & communication difficulties, sensory processing, severe learning disabilities, and hypermobility. The P.A. provides prompting for personal care, ensures close supervision, and facilitates participation in community activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with planning and attending social and leisure activities, including local parks, bus and train stations.
* Promote independence and provide personal care prompting as needed.
* Ensure safety during transport and activities, supervising to prevent risky behaviour.
* Support routine and punctuality for the boy.
Training & Qualifications
* SEN experience with children/young people—knowledge of strategies for thinking, learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech, language, communication, sensory and/or physical challenges.
* Safeguarding Adults & Children training.
* Understanding challenging behaviour and autism/Asperger’s knowledge.
* Full UK driving licence and own personal car for transportation.
Holiday Entitlement
