Overview
Yorkshire Water is seeking anElectrician to join the Water Production Maintenance Team and support the delivery of reliable, safe, and sustainable water and wastewater services across North West Yorkshire.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical assets across Clean Water and occasionally Wastewater infrastructure.
* Respond to emergency calls both during and outside of normal working hours, including participation in a call‑out stand‑by rota (typically 1 week in 7).
* Use a Toughbook to capture work activity and job status in line with workflow processes.
* Supervise approved Contract Partners, providing risk assessments and method statements where a permit to work is required.
* Assist in the development and training of apprentices and less experienced team members.
* Diagnose and repair faults on systems, plant, industrial motors, starters, 3‑phase systems, variable speed drives and UPS equipment.
* Identify and report on follow‑on work or areas for enhancement to improve asset reliability.
* Prepare and submit maintenance reports and procurement specifications for parts and equipment.
Qualifications
Essential: Recognised Electrical Craft/Technician Apprenticeship and a City & Guilds/ONC/BTEC/NVQ/HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Eng Tech.
* Safe isolation to the current IET regulations.
* Time‑served industrial electrician experience.
* Fault finding on control circuits up to the PLC.
* IT literacy (e.g., MS Office).
* Ability to produce maintenance reports.
* Experience fault finding with industrial motors, starters, 3‑phase systems and LV control circuits.
* Experience working with rotating equipment.
Desirable: IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (City and Guilds 2382‑18), CompEx 1‑4, HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* Experience with pneumatics and ATEX standards.
* Maintenance of UPS systems.
* Fault finding with soft start or variable speed drives and actuated valves.

* Strong health and safety awareness, with experience in hazard identification, mitigation and reporting.
* Proficiency in using Toughbook and other mobile data capture tools.
Working Conditions
* Location: Bradford/Skipton (covers North West Yorkshire area).
* Employment type: Full‑time, Permanent.
* Work hours: 37 hours across 4 days, Mon‑Fri with a rolling rota day.
* Must hold a full valid EU driving licence (or equivalent) to visit sites across the Yorkshire region.
* Travel to remote geographic locations and overnight stays may be required.
