WGM Engineering Ltd, part of RSK Group, is recruiting a Civil/Structural Designer to join our Technical & Design team on a permanent contract based in Glasgow with Hybrid Working arrangements.
About the Role
The role of the Civil/Structural Designer is to support in the production of whole life cycle design packages within the water and wastewater sector. This will involve offering support to a multi‑discipline design team through the production of specifications, schedules, drawings and calculations. A typical team structure will have you carrying out tasks for Principal or Lead Designer of the same discipline, allowing you to develop your knowledge of the industry and project requirements on a job‑by‑job basis.
You will be required to participate in site survey work on active assets, such as treatment works and pumping stations, and live construction sites to support the development and delivery of the projects. You will have opportunities to work on projects throughout their lifecycle, from conceptual/scoping, outline optioneering, detailed designs, construction level designs and supporting delivery on sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake site visits to obtain information which will help with the development of design packages or the delivery of projects.
* Assist with the production of scope reports outlining the client needs and project requirements.
* Participate in internal and client meetings.
* Assist design teams with the development of project design deliverables such as calculations, schedules, datasheets, specifications, work packages, drawings and schematics.
* Show an awareness and understanding of client and industry specifications.

Salary and Benefits
* Up to £52,000 per annum
