About the role:
The Analytical Chemist Laboratory Technician will conduct chemical sampling and analysis throughout production stages and in final packaging, interpreting and reporting analytical data. Reporting to the Lab Manager, this role is vital to our success and involves:
* Performing daily laboratory duties, including solution preparations and calibrations.
* Maintaining high hygiene standards and 5S in the lab.
* Recording data and producing analysis reports weekly, monthly, and periodically.
* Supporting team learning in analytical methods, equipment maintenance, and results interpretation.
* Sampling and analyzing using techniques like spectrophotometry, chromatography, titration, and beer analyzers (Anton Paar and Gallery).
* Managing COSHH and Risk Assessments, purchasing, and stock control.
* Monitoring analysis results, troubleshooting, and investigating with the QA team.
* Ensuring compliance with the Brewing proficiency scheme.
Experience and Key Attributes:
* Science degree with Chemistry or extensive analytical laboratory experience.
* Experience with Gas Chromatography and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography is essential.
* Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
* IT literate – SAP knowledge preferred.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a team.
* Flexible, motivated, with a focus on Continuous Improvement.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
