Overview
We are looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor to our expanding middle grade tier in Paediatrics at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The department is known for high quality patient centred care, excellent team working, resilience, and a collaborative approach to delivering services for children. The appointee will contribute to services in Acute Paediatrics as well as level 2 Neonates. Experience in Community Paediatrics would also be welcomed. The consultant body will provide support for continuing professional development and GMC revalidation requirements, and we are able to support development of a special interest in a range of Paediatric sub-specialities. The start date for this post is as soon as possible. Responsibilities
* Participate in the General Paediatric and Neonatal out of hours rota (currently involving 10 participants; expanded depending on number of successful candidates) with the aim of meeting recent legislative requirements and improving work intensity during the out-of-hours period.
* Contribute to services in Acute Paediatrics and level 2 Neonates; involvement in Community Paediatrics would be welcomed.
* Support continuing professional development and GMC revalidation requirements; development of a special interest in paediatric sub-specialities as appropriate.
* Engage with the multidisciplinary workforce model as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire and the Expert Advisory Forum to standardise care across the region.
Qualifications and requirements
* Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics or equivalent; able to participate in clinical duties in General Paediatrics and Neonatal care.
* Willingness to participate in out-of-hours rotas and to contribute to service improvements.
* Interest in developing a sub-speciality area of Paediatrics and in continuing professional development.
