We are seeking a dedicated, skilled and qualified Dental Therapist (or Hygienist) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care in our 5 surgery practice.
Therapist Responsibilities
* Intra and extra oral assessment
* Thorough scaling and polishing
* Periodontal treatment to maintain patients' oral health
* Applying materials to teeth such as fluoride and fissure sealants
* Operate medical imaging equipment to capture high-quality radiographs for diagnostic purposes
* Taking impressions
* Providing dental health education on oral hygiene practices on a one-to-one basis or in a group situation
* Undertaking routine restorations in both primary (baby) teeth and permanent teeth, on adults and children
* Extracting primary teeth
* Perform assessments of patients' oral health, including taking medical histories and identifying potential issues.
* Utilise digital scanning equipment available.
* Collaborate with dentists to assist in relevant treatment planning.
* Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments provided.
* Uphold strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
* Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and patient care.
* Ongoing professional development and the completion of CPD subjects and CPR courses as required.
Skills
* Proficient knowledge and strong understanding of dental anatomy and oral health practices.
* Experience with digital scanning is desirable.
* Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment.
* Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members.
* Attention to detail, excellent organisational and time management skills to manage patient records and patient appointments efficiently are essential.
* Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm, caring demeanour and the ability to build rapport with patients.
