Graduate SEND & SEMH Programme – September 2026
We are now recruiting graduates for our full-time Graduate SEND & SEMH Programme starting September 2026, with interviews taking place throughout May and June.
This specialist programme is based in Salford, offering placements across a range of schools and provisions that support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex learning profiles.
Each placement is carefully matched to your interests, giving you invaluable insight into specialist education settings.
What You’ll Gain:
* In-depth, hands‑on experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, and complex needs
* Practical skills in behaviour support, emotional regulation, and personalised learning strategies
* Experience working with EHCP‑led support and tailored interventions
* Ongoing mentoring and specialist professional development
* Exposure to a variety of SEND settings, including specialist provisions and inclusive schools
By the end of the academic year, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and experience needed to progress into teacher training, educational psychology, or other specialist education careers.
Role Details:
* Position: Graduate SEND & SEMH Academic Coach
* Location: Salford
* Start Date: September 2026
* Interview Period: May – June 2026
* Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term‑time only)
* Pay: £500–£530 per week
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, SEMH, and complex needs
* Supporting emotional regulation and implementing behaviour strategies
* Assisting with personalised learning plans and targeted interventions
* Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement
* Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Helping create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
We’re Looking For Graduates Who:
* Hold (or are predicted) a 2:2 degree or above
* Have a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
* Are patient, resilient, and empathetic
* Can remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
* Are proactive, positive, and reliable
* Are committed for the full academic year (September 2026 – July 2027)
* Work well within a team and communicate effectively
