Description Hours of work: 6.5 Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only, working for 40 weeks per year plus 6.2 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service. Groombridge St Thomas CE Primary School is looking to recruit a school office administrator to work one day a week (every Friday) in the school office. Groombridge St Thomas is a beautiful rural school situated on the Kent/East Sussex border. As of September 2024, we have been part of the Pioneer Federation, a federation of eight rural schools each with their own office administration team and a central finance team. The office teams work closely with each other to share good practice and systems. Working at Groombridge, you will be in a supportive team which includes fantastic pupils and wonderfully supportive parents. As the school office administrator, you will be a key front of house person welcoming visitors to the school and on the phone. You will also support the Office Manager and Headteacher with general administrative tasks. As part of the role, you will also act as the Health and Safety administrator (see job description attached). We are looking for candidates who: Have excellent communication and organisational skills Are able to work independently and with their own initiative- have a ‘can do’ attitude Are always polite and welcoming to visitors and children alike Can provide efficient support that is needed to keep the school running smoothly Are able to build on and develop the Health and Safety systems in the school The hours are: 6.5 per week (8.30am- 3.30pm including a half hour lunch break), working every Friday, term time only but to include INSET days. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations. If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
