Job Summary: The role involves designing and managing electrical and mechanical building services to meet client requirements while delivering projects on budget and schedule.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with clients to develop a detailed brief for electrical and mechanical services and produce a clear report demonstrating understanding of their needs. - Conduct options appraisals and create reports that justify recommendations for client approval. - Lead engineers and graduates, guiding them on program delivery. - Work effectively with the design team, including Quantity Surveyors, Architects, and Engineers, to ensure the project aligns with client expectations. - Produce design reports with drawings and specifications. - Oversee the tender process to select appropriate contractors. - Monitor on-site activities to ensure quality and progress in construction. - Implement cost controls and advise on project finances to maintain budget. - Validate the commissioning process to ensure compliance with specifications. - Guide on maintenance manuals provided by contractors. - Ensure a smooth handover from contractors, verifying the final construction meets requirements. - Review safety and risk assessments under relevant regulations. - Stay updated on industry knowledge to provide the best client advice. - Mentor and train undergraduates, graduates, and engineers.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills: - A degree in engineering, with progress towards Chartered Engineer status preferred. - Extensive experience in complex construction projects and multidisciplinary teams. - Knowledge of electrical engineering systems, relevant standards, and design tools like AutoCAD and Excel. - Familiarity with mechanical systems, renewable technologies, and planning requirements is desirable.
