The job itself
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced ICT Officer to join our ICT Infrastructure and Customer Support Team based at County Hall, Beverley. The role focuses on providing support for school Management Information System (MIS), general IT assistance; applying a strong understanding of educational environments, DfE guidelines, and statutory school requirements. A good working knowledge of IT devices, servers, and network infrastructure used in schools is essential.
You will support the ICT Service (Schools) Team and work closely with colleagues across ICT Customer Support and wider service areas, ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational policies. Excellent communication skills are key, as the role involves providing 1st & 2nd line technical support to cover wide range of IT technical disciplines, included but not limited to, ICT Customer Support Services, the School IT Infrastructure including server management, network management, Wifi Management, School MIS systems, ICT Admin and Curriculum Support including hardware, Internet and Filtering solutions, software and general ICT duties together with supporting the ER ICT School service desk.
This is a full-time role (37 hours per week), and occasional work outside normal office hours may be required to ensure Council systems remain fully operational and secure. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent IT skills and knowledge both remotely and working on-site within a school working environment, therefore a valid driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
