About The Job.
As a Technician within our Midlands based Drainage team, you’ll provide technical support to Drainage and Fencing Engineering teams involved in the identification and evaluation of asset specific needs and early solutions. You’ll assure adherence to defined asset policies and standards, and act as the technical authority for the specific asset class(es) in scope. You will manage the day-to-day input of data into the relevant asset inventory systems.
You may be required to work unsociable hours. Please note that you will be required to drive as part of your role, and you will need to have no more than 3 points to be considered for this position and during employment.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are fully considered and accounted for throughout the planning and delivery of each service activity.
* Support the identification of asset needs in accordance with required governance and to achieve business objectives.
* Support survey works for the improvement and/or renewal of assets.
* Support collaboration with engineering colleagues, Project Managers, Service Delivery Managers and Route Managers to ensure forward programme plans reflect asset needs, priorities, and strategies.
* Continuously monitor and analyse asset data, to champion asset data quality, integrity and adherence to data standards and guidelines, and provide coaching and guidance to regional colleagues involved in data entry and maintenance.
Qualifications
* NVQ/National Certification in a relevant discipline for Civil Engineering or working towards.
* Experience working in civil engineering relating to drainage and associated highway works.
* Knowledge of DMRB standards DDMS (Drainage Maintenance Management System), Confirm, CEMAR, CDMT.
* Knowledge of asset condition assessment and degradation modelling.
