The Role
As a Shelbourne Motors Technician, you will be responsible for accurately diagnosing and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical faults on customers’ cars. You must ensure a fantastic standard of work and aim for a first‑time fix every time. This is a great opportunity for a Technician who wants to keep up‑to‑date with modern vehicle technologies and develop skills in a multi‑franchise environment (manufacturers include Nissan and Toyota). Ongoing training is available for the right candidate.

Hours of Work (Part Time)
Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, plus 1 Saturday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm per month.
Day‑to‑Day Duties
* Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components and diagnose issues accurately, using computer‑based diagnostic equipment.
* Repair or replace broken or defective parts and confirm that defects have been resolved.
* Train other members of the team in various diagnostic and repair methods.
* Liaise with the vehicle manufacturer and customers to accurately communicate faults and repairs needed.
* Record test results and findings and maintain records to manufacturer requirements.
* Assist in workshop planning and the pre‑diagnosis of vehicle faults, including speculative ordering of parts, to ensure a first‑time fix.
* Road‑test vehicles to check repairs.
Essential Skills
* A minimum of Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3
* Ability to work in a competent and efficient manner both as part of a team and independently.
* Ability to follow checklists and ensure that all procedures are completed.
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to follow instructions and listening skills.
* A high level of organisation.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
* A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with manufacturers and customers.
* An understanding of great customer service.
* A passion for the automotive industry and a desire to work with cutting‑edge technology.
* A full UK driving licence.
Skills
Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 or equivalent vehicle diagnostic driving licence.
