Our manufacturing client is looking for a recent College/University leaver with an engineering/automotive qualification, to be trained initially as a skilled Machine Operator to work on a Band Saw and Punch Machine in their Littlehampton manufacturing facility. There will also be scope for career progression within the business.
The position will initially be temporary, but will be made permanent on succusseful completion of a 12 week training programme.
You will be involved in fabricating a combination of high tensile, cold-formed alloy and mild steels for the manufacture of T-bars/steps for the commercial vehicle sector. These items are retro fitted.
Whilst direct experience of operating these machines is not required, it is essential that you have some good, general worshop experience gained from completing your qualification.
The working hours are 40 per week, 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, with15 mins morning break, lunch from 1pm to 1.30pm and an afternoon break from 3pm to 3.15pm. Some overtime is often available Mon to Fri and very occasionally on a Saturday, paid at time and a half
