The Cornwall Childrens Community Speech and Language Therapy service offers an opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join due to new investment. This is an ideal role for those looking to relocate or step into a specialist position.
Responsibilities
Provide assessment and intervention services to children and families aged 0–18 years via clinic appointments, setting visits, and home visits across Cornwall. Deliver both assessment and intervention, along with consultation and training. Support the clinical lead for speech with quality improvement projects related to the speech pathway. Develop specialist skills within speech disorder to support other SaLT colleagues. Manage a mixed community caseload.
Main duties
* Passionate and knowledgeable about speech sound disorder.
* Experience with a range of clinical needs and knowledge of the education system.
* Enjoys working on service development projects with peers.
* Mentoring or supervising student SaLTs or support workers.
Person specification
Qualification/Education
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent qualification).
* Fully signed‑off the Newly Qualified Practitioner Competencies set out by the Royal College of Speech Language Therapists.
* Registration with the Health Professions Council.
* Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
Experience
* Clinical experience with autism, other neurodevelopmental disorders, and children and young people with complex conditions and needs.
* Experience working with multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency teams, understanding team and professional roles.
* Some experience of leadership – coordinating a team/project and supporting them clinically and professionally.

Eligibility and additional requirements
This post requires appropriate UK professional registration. Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service is required and the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 applies.
The role is community‑based and requires frequent travel to various locations throughout Cornwall. Applicants must demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.
