Join us as an Assistant Transport Manager at FCC Environment
We are seeking a dedicated individual to support the operation of the Wastewise Fleet, including Walking Floor and Hook Loader vehicles, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and compliant haulage services. This full-time role involves close collaboration with the Transport Manager to oversee daily transport compliance, operational efficiency, and fleet coordination.
Salary and Hours
£34,520 - £43,151 per annum (plus benefits). Working Monday to Friday, full-time.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist with legal, safe, and efficient transport operations across the Wastewise Fleet
* Ensure compliance with Operator Licence requirements, including driver hours, tachograph management, and vehicle inspections
* Support management of maintenance records and driver licensing via digital platforms
* Coordinate with internal teams and external haulage providers to meet collection schedules
* Support driver management, including operational queries, training, and investigations
* Monitor transport KPIs and identify areas for performance improvement
* Support the implementation of vehicle systems, operational updates, and new technologies
* Assist with third-party haulage arrangements and ad-hoc transport needs
* Promote high standards of safety, efficiency, and corporate image in all activities
Candidate Requirements
* GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above)
* Proficiency in IT systems
* Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) or working towards it
* Knowledge of fleet maintenance in municipal or commercial settings
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities
* Good understanding of transport compliance and willingness to learn new systems and legislation
* Proactive, polite, confident team player who values safety and service
