Job Title: Security Officer

Rate: £13.85 per hour

Contracted Hours: Avg. 56 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 7/3, 7/4


Role overview

As a Security Officer at 200 Aldersgate, your primary responsibility is to safeguard people, premises, and property while upholding the reputation of the client and tenants. You will be instrumental in delivering a secure, welcoming, and professional environment, working as part of a cohesive, high-performing team. Key responsibilities

* Deliver outstanding service to all staff, clients, tenants, and visitors.
* Maintain a visible, approachable, and courteous presence at all times.
* Respond to queries about the building and local area with professionalism.
* Assist in welcoming and directing visitors and deliveries appropriately.


Access control & security

* Ensure no unauthorized persons enter restricted areas.
* Conduct ID checks and control access for staff, contractors, and visitors.
* Monitor CCTV and other systems; log incidents accurately.
* Understand and execute evacuation, lockdown, and emergency procedures.
* Rotate across various security posts with full competency.
* Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies calmly and efficiently.


Operational duties

* Conduct regular patrols and identify/report hazards or unusual activity.
* Manage key control and maintain related logs.
* Use building systems (Locale, MyTag, Fire panel, CCTV, Delmatic, WinPak).
* Assist with audits, lift/escalator checks, and reporting faults.
* Follow up with tenants and clients via email in the absence of supervisors.
* Complete detailed incident reports and escalate issues via proper channels.


Team collaboration

* Work closely with Front of House, cleaning, maintenance, and catering teams.
* Support new team members through training and knowledge sharing.
* Promote the building and service providers positively throughout all interactions.
* Foster a “one team” approach to ensure seamless service delivery.


Professional conduct

* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Act with integrity and respect for client property and digital systems.
* Remain resilient and composed in high-pressure or sensitive situations.
* Follow instructions from supervisors and adapt to unexpected tasks or incidents.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.


Essential skills & qualifications

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong customer service focus.
* Calm under pressure and able to multitask effectively.
* Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
* Physically fit to perform security duties.
* IT-literate; proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* Strong initiative and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Willingness to train in First Aid, fire marshal duties, and conflict management.
* Knowledge of current security threats and a proactive security mindset.


Compliance & ethics

* Operate within SIA regulations and building-specific protocols.
* Support internal/external audits as required by the client or regulatory bodies.
* Uphold the standards of UniTrust Security and act in the company's best interests.
