Role: Attendance Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Academy: Outwood Academy Ormesby
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary (Actual Salary): Grade 3, SCP 5-6 (£21,955.76 to £22,304.20)
Working Pattern: 37 Hours Per Week, 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 3:30pm Friday, Term Time only plus 5 days
This role is a temporary position as maternity cover for up to 1 year.

Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day registration process and maintain the academy’s attendance Management Information System.
* Communicate proactively with parents/carers about absences and lateness, record reasons for absence and process student leave of absence requests.
* Provide attendance data to colleagues (SLT and Learning Managers) who monitor attendance issues.
* Participate in late gate duty and liaise with the EWO and Learning Manager to help raise academy attendance.
* Ensure all staff are advised on the correct attendance policy and procedures.
Qualifications
* Highly organised with strong time‑management skills.
* Proficiency in standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
* Effective communication skills with a wide range of audiences.
* Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality and to recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
* Experience working in a school environment is desirable.
