About the Role
:
This is a high impact role working directly with senior operational and commercial leaders. You will drive financial discipline, improve commercial outcomes, and support strategic decision making through clear, evidence based financial insight.
1. Act as a trusted commercial and financial business partner to branch leadership, developing a strong understanding of operational processes, contract structures, and key commercial drivers.
2. Take ownership of financial performance, actively challenging operational teams on delivery against commercial terms, financial targets, and operational KPIs.
3. Produce high quality commercial and financial management information, including monthly performance reviews supported by clear and insightful commentary.
4. Identify, quantify, and communicate risks and opportunities against annual targets, ensuring corrective actions are understood and implemented.
5. Lead the production of rolling forecasts and annual budgets, ensuring assumptions are robust, transparent, and aligned to operational delivery plans.
6. Support commercial contract activity including pricing reviews, contract variations, repricing exercises, and tendering opportunities.
7. Ensure financial and commercial information is clearly communicated to non-financial stakeholders, enabling informed decision making at all levels.
Key Criteria:
8. Proven experience as a Finance and Commercial Manager supporting operational teams within a contract-based environment.
9. Strong commercial and financial experience with a clear focus on profitability and performance management.
10. Confidence working with complex financial models and the ability to interpret and challenge financial and commercial performance.
11. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
12. Proactive and hands on approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
13. Ability to travel between London branches and occasionally outside of London when required.
14. Professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA is desirable, as is experience within social housing or repairs and maintenance environments.
