We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Civil Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering design, particularly in the nuclear industry.
The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of civil structures within nuclear power plants and related facilities.
This includes:
* Developing detailed civil and structural designs for nuclear facilities, including containment structures, cooling towers, and support buildings.
* Using engineering tools to create design drawings and specifications.
* Ensuring designs meet all relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, a strong attention to detail, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
Our Nuclear Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for:
* Producing building-specific documents, such as handover reports and hypothesis notes.
* Raising and following up on building-specific technical open points.
* Supporting the civil building lead in resolving transverse/complex technical open points.
* Coordinating and carrying out the resolution of building-specific technical topics.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, experience in civil design engineering, preferably in the nuclear industry, knowledge of structural analysis software, such as Tekla or STAAD Pro, and proficiency in 3D viewer software, such as Navisworks and/or PDMS.
Security Clearance
Candidates will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS) and must have Independent Right to Work in the UK.
