A highly regarded UK law firm is seeking a Newly Qualified to 2 PQE Solicitor to join its Private Wealth & Tax practice in Edinburgh.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop a broad private client practice within a technically strong and supportive team that advises a diverse client base, including individuals, families, trustees and charities.
The Role
You will work across a wide range of private wealth matters, including:
1. Will and trust drafting and administration
2. Tax and succession planning
3. Executry and estate administration
4. Advice relating to adults with incapacity
5. Contentious and international probate matters
6. Generational and wealth structuring
The team operates collaboratively with colleagues across related practice areas, offering exposure to varied and high‑quality work.
Candidate Profile
7. Newly qualified solicitor or up to 2 years’ PQE in private client/private wealth
8. Sound technical grounding with the ability to draft with increasing autonomy
9. Strong communication skills, able to explain legal issues clearly to clients and colleagues
10. Well organised, with effective time and file management skills
11. Commercially aware and interested in client development and relationship building
12. Keen to contribute positively to a collaborative team environment
Key Responsibilities
13. Managing matters with appropriate supervision
14. Drafting wills, trust documentation and related papers
15. Assisting with client meetings and relationship management
16. Managing time recording, billing and WIP responsibly
17. Supporting business development and marketing initiatives
18. Contributing to knowledge sharing and team development
