This fantastic Newham-based primary school in Poplar is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants who are patient, resilient, and genuinely committed to inclusion. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and engage positively within the school environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff to deliver consistent routines, structure, and encouragement throughout the day. Responsibilities may include:
One-to-one support for pupils with additional needs
Supporting small groups within the classroom or specialist provision
Assisting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
Every day will be different, and your support will make a meaningful difference to pupils’ confidence, progress, and well-being.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs) in a primary setting or similar
A calm, positive, and consistent approach to behaviour and routines
Confidence working with a range of learning needs and abilities
Strong relationship-building skills and a nurturing approach
A proactive mindset and willingness to get involved
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
