Title: Calibration Lab Technician Reports to: Quality Manager Contract Type: Permanent Shifts: Mon - Thurs 8.00am - 4.30pm, Friday 8.00am- 1.00pm Department: Quality Location: Global Point Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Calibration Lab Technician will be required to ensure that appropriate checks are in place to ensure all measurement equipment is calibrated per requirements of the Quality Management System and all Process Laboratory Tests are performed to the required schedule. Main Responsibilities Establish and maintain calibration frequencies for all measurement equipment in line with customer and QMS requirements. Perform internal calibrations were appropriate. Manage the dispatch and return of measurement equipment to external calibration partners. Maintain the calibration database. Report on missing measurement equipment, or items which fail calibration and investigate to determine root cause/corrective action. Manage and perform chemical testing of wet treatment lines to a defined schedule. To be familiar with the specifications, company procedures, associated documentation and processes applicable to the area involved. To assist in the training of any new personnel within or outside the department. To ensure that all inspection equipment is adequately identified, maintained and calibrated. Obtain authorisation to allow continued use when limits may be exceeded. Liaise with production personnel and suppliers/sub-contractors as and when required resolving problems/issues. Assessment of internal and external calibration reports to escalate any issues whereby the calibration activity may be delinquent on allowable values and/or processes. Qualifications Essential Time-served Apprenticeship to at least NVQ Level III in an Engineering, Manufacturing or Chemical Discipline. Desirable Engineering or Chemistry Degree Experience Essential Work in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
