The Role Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of planning consents across a range of development sites. Working closely with Land, Planning, and Technical teams, as well as local authorities and external consultants, you will help progress sites from appraisal through to planning approval. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in development management within a dynamic housebuilding environment. Key Responsibilities Support the preparation and submission of planning applications (outline, full, reserved matters, and discharge of conditions) Assist in coordinating consultant teams for planning submissions and appeals Undertake site appraisals, including analysis of planning policy, housing need, and site constraints Monitor progress of planning applications, appeals, and local plan documents Liaise with local authorities, planning officers, and key stakeholders Support community consultation and engagement activities Attend project meetings, site visits, and public consultations Maintain accurate planning records and programmes Assist with appeal statements and supporting documentation About You Degree in Town Planning or related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred) MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership Circa 2–5 years’ experience in a housebuilder, consultancy, or local authority Good understanding of the UK planning system, including policy and development management Strong written and verbal communication skills Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines Collaborative team player with the ability to take ownership of tasks Confident engaging with stakeholders and consultants Proficient in Microsoft Office (GIS or other planning tools beneficial) Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle What’s on Offer Competitive salary Discretionary bonus scheme Car allowance (with salary sacrifice scheme available) 25 days’ holiday (rising to 27 with service) Pension scheme Life assurance and income protection Employee Assistance Programme Health cash plan (optional) Employee house purchase discount scheme This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking housebuilder and develop your career within a supportive and growth-focused environment.
