Main duties of the job

As a Support Worker with Magenta Domiciliary Care Services, you'll play a vital role in helping people live independently and confidently in their own homes. Each day brings variety from assisting with daily routines and encouraging healthy living, to offering companionship and supporting customers to remain active in their communities. You'll often work alone, giving you the chance to build trusted one-to-one relationships, but at times you'll collaborate with colleagues when customers require more than one worker. Good communication and accurate record keeping are essential, as you'll be responsible for documenting the care you provide and raising any concerns promptly. Job responsibilities

Reporting to the Registered Manager, Support Workers at Magenta Domiciliary Care Services provide person-centred care to individuals in their own homes and within the community. Working to a daily rota, you will help customers live as independently as possible, in line with their care plans and daily requirements.

* Older age and age-related needs
* Substance misuse or addiction issues
* Social challenges such as isolation or housing difficulties
* Physical disabilities or long-term health conditions
* Learning disabilities or developmental conditions


Key Responsibilities

* Deliver personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and medication prompts.
* Support customers to access the community, attend social activities, and engage in leisure opportunities.
* Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation and light domestic duties.
* Book and/or attend appointments with customers, ensuring access to health and social services.
* Communicate with external agencies - where appropriate (e.g. local authority, Department for Work and Pensions) on behalf of customers.
* Liaise with family members or next of kin where appropriate.
* Identify and report safeguarding concerns promptly.
* Maintain accurate records in line with company policies and CQC standards.
* Work independently, travelling between customer addresses and community locations.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check during application.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals.
* Previous experience in domiciliary care or support work.
* Knowledge of care planning and compliance requirements.
* Understanding of mental health, learning disabilities, or addiction support.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing customer needs.

Person Specification


Experience

* Experience of working in domiciliary care or support work
* Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
* Knowledge and Understanding of CQC compliance


Other

* Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle with appropriate insurance


Qualifications

* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
