ICaSH Consultant (HIV & GUM) – East of England Community Health & Care NHS Trust, Cambridge

Duration: 12 months, 24 hours per week (fixed‑term parental leave cover – 6 hours/day).
We are recruiting a dedicated Consultant to deliver expert clinical care across HIV, Sexual Health and Contraception services in the iCaSH team at King's Lynn. The role includes leadership, training, service development and quality improvement, with a focus on meeting public health targets and delivering patient‑centred care.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical care for HIV, STIs, and other genitourinary conditions.
* Lead and develop local and shared care pathways within clinical governance frameworks.
* Support the achievement of local STI/HIV public health targets.
* Train and supervise clinical, nursing and allied health staff, maintaining professional standards and compliance with GMC re‑licensing, CPD and appraisal processes.
* Use the electronic patient database efficiently for clinical management and operational duties.
* Deliver communication, education and outreach programmes to patients and stakeholders, including safeguarding duties and health promotion activities.
* Undertake audit, research and service improvement projects to evidence‑base practice.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, governance and clinical supervision sessions.
* Maintain confidentiality, data protection and infection control standards in line with Trust policies.
Qualifications & Training
* GMC Specialist Registration in HIV Medicine or within 6 months of interview.
* MBBS or equivalent, with additional qualifications in GU Medicine, HIV Medicine and CoSRH (College of Sexual and Reproductive Health).
* Experience in STI management, HIV/AIDS care and other aspects of sexual health (e.g., vulval disease, psychosexual medicine).
* Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, with experience supervising multi‑disciplinary teams.
