The Targeted Youth Support team part of Lancashire County Council's, Children and Family Wellbeing Service is looking to recruit 3 part time Assistant Youth Support Workers to work in the South/Central of Lancashire, specifically in Preston & West Lancashire Districts, who are enthusiastic, organised and passionate about making a difference and changing young people’s lives.
The Targeted Youth Support team part of Lancashire County Council's, Children and Family Wellbeing Service is looking to recruit 3 part time Assistant youth support workers to work in the South/Central of Lancashire, specifically in Preston & West Lancashire Districts, who are enthusiastic, organised and passionate about making a difference and changing young people’s lives. This post is evening work – usually between the times of 6:30-9:30pm across two evenings. The Service is a key contributor to the prevention and early intervention/early help agenda for Lancashire County Council. It enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.
The Youth Worker's role is to contribute to the delivery of youth work opportunities in our centres, partner buildings and out in the communities delivering street-based work. Youth Workers will report to a youth support worker or professional range youth worker and will work closely with other youth work staff and volunteers to maximise opportunities for young people to access social and personal development as well as learning opportunities. The main purpose of the role is to initiate and develop relationships with 12 to 19 year olds and up to 25 year olds for young people with vulnerabilities. Working directly with targeted young people to enable them to broaden their horizons and involvement in positive activities. By designing and developing youth work responses underpinned by the 4 cornerstones of youth work, equality, participation, education and empowerment and delivery of the Youth Offer.
As part of the role, you will be required to undertake your level 2 youth work qualification and you will be supported by Lancashire county council to complete this.
