Reports to: Deputy Managers and Registered ManagersLocation: Children's Residential Care Homes, LeylandHours & Pattern:Full-time, 40 hours per week (average)Shift pattern includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins, and lone working2 on / 4 off shift patternSalary:£29,600 per year£50 per sleep-in (approx. 10 per month)Job PurposeAssist the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager with day-to-day operations and provide cover across homes.Ensure the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of children and young people are met in a supportive, homely, and professional environment.Comply with Ofsted, government, and Association policies to maintain quality standards.Achieve and maintain a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.Promote an organizational culture aligned with core values.Principal ResponsibilitiesManagement & AdministrationAssist managers in recruitment, staff induction, training, performance management, and allocation of duties.Maintain care home operations: shifts, budgets, petty cash, record-keeping, and reports.Care Provision3. Ensure care is provided in a positive, inclusive environment that considers race, spirituality, gender, disability, and sexual orientation.
4. Maintain accurate, professional care plans, risk assessments, and anti-bullying strategies. 5.
Build positive relationships with children/young people, assessing needs and developing individual care plans.Operational & Financial Duties6. Support home administration, including:Supplies and services managementWritten reports and recordsMaintenance, cleaning, and grounds upkeepBudget monitoring and petty cash managementEngagement with the local communityStaff Development7. Guide and train staff, provide feedback, audit records, coach, and manage performance.Safeguarding8.
Act immediately on any safeguarding concerns and follow procedures. 9. Attend court proceedings, child protection conferences, and provide reports.Communication & Collaboration10.
Maintain communication within the home and with external agencies, schools, families, and the community. 11. Ensure staff awareness of legal, professional, safeguarding, and administrative practices.Youth Engagement12.
Work individually or in groups with children/young people to enhance relationships, personal behavior, and life skills.Additional Responsibilities13. Undertake designated projects or tasks assigned by management. 14.
