Description
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Lecturer in Multi‑Skills to join our Construction team at Sandwell College. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire and develop learners, delivering high‑quality, engaging teaching that supports student achievement and progression. You will play a key role in delivering and developing multi‑skills programmes, ensuring lessons are inclusive, stimulating, and aligned with industry standards. You will also contribute to continuous improvement in teaching and learning, helping to enhance the overall student experience and outcomes across the College.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality multi‑skills programmes as directed by the Head of Section.
* Contribute to curriculum planning, design and development.
* Act as a course tutor, providing academic and pastoral support to learners.
* Work collaboratively within course teams to ensure consistency and quality of delivery.
* Contribute to the growth and development of the Construction provision.
* Undertake internal verification and quality assurance activities.
* Participate in continuous professional development and training.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Degree and/or appropriate professional qualification relevant to the department.
* Hold a D32/33/A1/TAQA or working towards it.
* Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification.
* Hold a D34/V1.
* Experience delivering relevant qualifications.
* Experience in internal verification or moderation.
* Experience of excellent teaching and learning practice.
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our qualified lecturer salary banding (£31,837 – £48,160) you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
* DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* Certificate in Education
* PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
* ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
* DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
* DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
Without one of the above qualifications you will fall into the unqualified lecturer salary banding (£26,661 – £29,998).
