We are looking for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school team in September 2025.
Duties as a Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure pupils remain on task.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
* Register attendance and keep accurate records as required.
* Provide feedback to teachers about pupil progress and any issues during cover lessons.
* Support pupils in completing work to the best of their ability.
* Uphold the school’s safeguarding procedures at all times.
* Assist with other supervision duties, such as break and lunchtime cover, if required.
Ideal Cover Supervisor:
* Good standard of education (minimum of GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths).
* Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar setting is desirable.
* Strong classroom management skills and confidence to lead a class.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a Cover Supervisor.
* Flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
