My client is looking for an ambitious Planner to join their growing team in Stoke - on – Trent. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and assessing a variety of planning applications, helping to guide the development of our town in line with strategic goals and community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planning Applications: Assess, process, and manage planning applications, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations.
2. Policy Development: Contribute to the development and review of planning policies, providing expert advice to ensure alignment with long-term objectives.
3. Site Appraisals: Conduct site visits and appraisals to evaluate the suitability of proposed developments, considering environmental, social, and economic impacts.
4. Community Engagement: Engage with local communities, stakeholders, and developers to gather feedback and ensure that planning decisions reflect community interests.
5. Development Control: Provide guidance on development control matters, ensuring that developments adhere to planning regulations and contribute to sustainable urban growth.
6. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for planning committees, providing clear and concise recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience:
7. Essential:A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.Membership or eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, policies, and procedures.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with attention to detail.
